Bass - Back Vocals

I was blessed to have been brought up by Christian parents and have always been around musicians, with my dad playing guitar and fiddle, and uncle playing mandolin in church ever since I could remember.  Originally from west Texas, I started my music endeavors playing trumpet in junior high school band in the early 1960’s and continuing through high school as part of the Marching Band in the early 1970’s in Fort Worth Texas.  One day in 1970 while at a friend’s house I picked up a Fender Precision Bass and started playing music. I had such a great experience; I have never looked back, making music an integrated part of my life. Music is my passion, and starting out, my love for the bass was immediate and the ability to read music from playing trumpet excelled the process of learning and playing the instrument.  My first band was formed with my friend that introduced me to the bass and a drummer that lived nearby. We played anywhere we were given the opportunity and soon gigs were booked in many bars and clubs in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area and my love for music and the fun of playing consumed my life.  Having known Jesus from the age of 6, playing in clubs became too much of a burden to ignore anymore after wandering several years in secular music and one night at an alter I dedicated my gifts to playing only music that would lift up Jesus and help a hurting world.  From that point in my life I was fortunate to have played in many Praise and Worship bands, Christian Rock Bands, and with many prominent artists, Television spots and recording sessions.  In 1998, I moved my family from North Texas to Denver Colorado and the first church that we attended needed a bass player in the Praise and Worship Team where I still play now, 14 years later.  I met God connections at that Church (today called Church for All Nations Littleton).  Now I see my dreams of creating music and reaching out to the lost and hurting world starting to become a reality as God has miraculously put together the finest group of musicians that I have ever played with, having talents only surpassed by their passion to do what God has for them to accomplish through music.  Highway 358 is the fruition of all those years of dreaming for me.  The music that we are creating, that I hope blesses you and encourages you, is most certainly “Rock n’ Roll the Way God Intended”.
